Retail trade turnover in July 2012 | The Lithuania Tribune

Based on the provisional data of Statistics Lithuania, in July 2012, the turnover (VAT excluded) of enterprises engaged in retail trade, except for the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, amounted to LTL 2294.1 million and, compared to June, grew by 4 per cent at constant prices (seasonally adjusted, by 1.3 per cent).

Over the month, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products grew by 4.5 per cent, of those trading in non-food products ? by 4.7 per cent. The turnover of enterprises engaging in retail trade in automotive fuel grew by 1.8 per cent at constant prices. The largest increase was observed for specialised stores trading in clothing (by 20.4 per cent) and audio and video equipment (20 per cent).

Over the year (July 2012, compared to July 2011), the turnover (VAT excluded) of enterprises engaged in retail trade, except for the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, grew by 5 per cent at constant prices (working day adjusted ? by 5.7 per cent). Over the year, the turnover of enterprises trading in food products increased by 1.7 per cent, of those trading in non-food products ? by 11.4 per cent, while the turnover of enterprises engaging in retail trade in automotive fuel decreased by 0.6 per cent at constant prices. The largest increase was observed for retail sale via mail order houses or via the Internet (by 33.8?per cent), specialised stores trading in second-hand goods (46.1 per cent) and audio and video equipment (23.9 per cent).

In July 2012, the turnover of enterprises engaged in the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles amounted to LTL 664.6 million and, compared to June, grew by 2.4 per cent at constant prices. Compared to July 2011, their turnover grew by 22.8 per cent at constant prices.

In July 2012, the turnover (VAT excluded) of food and beverage service enterprises amounted to LTL 99.9 million and, compared to June, grew by 10.7 per cent at constant prices. Compared to July 2011, their turnover grew by 11.9 per cent at constant prices.
